August 9 Reuters Italian EUharmonised consumer prices HICP fell 0.9 monthonmonth in July and were up 1.6 from the year earlier, official statistics agency ISTAT said on Friday, revising down preliminary data.

The preliminary estimate had pointed to 0.8 monthonmonth and 1.7 yearonyear.

Julys 1.6 annual rate was up from 0.9 in June.

The main domestic price index NIC, rose 0.4 on the month and increased 1.3 annually, accelerating from a 0.8 annual rise in June.

Core inflation net of fresh food and energy was running at 2.4 yearonyear on the HICP index in July, up from 2.1 in the month before.
